JOURNEY INTO FREEDOM
Facilitated by Philippe Leduc
Reality is always kinder than our stories about it, says Byron Katie. And every time we suffer, it's because we’re believing a story that conflicts with reality. The Work reveals that our suffering comes not from reality itself, but from thinking that reality should be different than it is.
The Work of Byron Katie is a simple yet radical method of inquiry into the stressful thoughts that fuel our suffering. The Work helps us unravel these deceitful thoughts, free ourselves from the grip of our conditioning, and uncover our true nature: joy, peace, love, and freedom.
The Work is a form of meditative inquiry done with pen and paper. During this workshop, you will learn how to investigate the beliefs that underlie whatever suffering there is in your life. There will be some partner work as well as individual work. The only requisite is an open mind.
The workshop will be mostly in English, with as much French as needed. Worksheets will be provided in both languages.
Flowland Montreal is a beautiful loft space in the heart of the Mile-End. Cushions, backjacks, chairs and blankets are provided.
Philippe started using The Work in 2008 after reading Byron Katie’s Loving What Is. He was hooked, and during the following two years, he attended Katie’s School for the Work twice. Since, he has offered workshops in Canada and Thailand. He is excited to share this simple method of inquiry.
“I loved this experience with Philippe. The next day, I was able to integrate this new tool into my meditations and turn around thoughts that were blocking me or were causing suffering. The approach is simple, efficient, easy to integrate, and I am curious to see what impact it will have on my life and my relationships!”
– Mylène, Montreal
“Philippe’s approach in sharing The Work is gentle and non-judgmental. I immediately felt a release of suffering, in the very first exercise. Naming our beliefs and all their ramifications turns out to be a powerful and even fun tool. And turning them around and feeling the various emotions that come up was surprisingly fun.”
– Odile, Montreal
“It’s incredible how deceptive our minds can be, how quickly we say “This is true, I know how it is.” This workshop broke some of my limiting beliefs and destructive thinking patterns. Since then, I feel lighter, calmer and more tolerant toward others and myself.”
– Joshua David, Thailand
